Ted Nugent’s Wife Had Gun in Carry-On Luggage, Was Arrested

The wife of rock musician Ted Nugent was taken into custody by authorities on Thursday afternoon because a handgun was discovered in her carry-on luggage at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

According to her defense lawyer, Shemane Ann Nugent “completely forgot or never knew the weapon was in her bag.” He said bringing the gun on the premises was an “honest mistake.”

Firearms are allowed in checked baggage but not in carry-on bags.

Nugent, 51, has a concealed handgun license. Her husband is an ardent supporter of hunting and gun ownership rights.
